Eka Pada Koundiyanasana II
Today I took another handstands and arm balances workshop. Two hours of arm balances and handstand work. Again, most of the poises were ones I had never tried before, but they are good to aim for. But the class also highlighted that I don’t have a lot of arm strength. The good news is that the last time I took this class (about 4 months ago) – I couldn’t even do a handstand. Now with the wall, I can muster one. And I managed with some spotting to do one in the middle of the room for about… 10 seconds.

- Bakasana
As warm up we did Crane Pose (Bakasana) – which I can do, but holding it for um more than 30 seconds is a challenge.

- Pincha Mayurasana
One that we didn’t do in class, but I’m excited I can do with the help of the wall is Pincha Mayurasana. At first it just seem ridiculous – and for me, it’s hard not to jam my head into the block or wall. When I was practicing Astangana at Yoga Works, Montana – I saw Gwyneth Paltrow do it without a wall and I was impressed.
I have to admit – I am totally beat. Like a wave of exhaustion has hit me.
